A Conversation with Accounting Executive John Giraldo

John Giraldo, ’91, is senior vice president and global controller of NBCUniversal, which owns and operates news and entertainment television networks, premier motion picture studios, significant television production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks.
Prior to joining NBCU, Giraldo was global controller and chief accounting officer at Endeavor. Formerly known as WME-IMG, Endeavor is one of the world’s largest talent agencies and a global leader in sports (owner of Ultimate Fighting Championship), events, media and fashion. Before Endeavor, Giraldo held senior accounting officer and controllership roles at AMC Networks, Scholastic, MTV/Viacom, New Line Cinema/Time Warner, and Major League Soccer. He began his career in 1990 at Ernst & Young LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Queens College and is a certified public accountant.
Today, Giraldo serves as a member of the board of directors of the Media Finance Management Association, a not-for-profit professional association for business and finance executives in the media industry, as well as the Executive Alumni Association of the New York office of Ernst & Young LLP. In both 2014 and 2015, he was recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Minorities in cable television by industry publication CableFAX.
