A Conversation with Fred Wilpon, Owner of the New York Mets

 

Fred Wilpon is the chairman and senior partner of Sterling Equities. He is also the chairman and chief executive officer of the New York Mets and a director on the board of SportsNet New York. Since co-founding Sterling Equities in 1972, Mr. Wilpon has led its growth and evolution over four decades, amassing extensive experience in all aspects of the real estate, sports, and media industries. He also supports a number of nonprofit and philanthropic endeavors, including the University of Michigan Irene and Morris B. Kessler Presidential Scholarship, the Robert J. McGuire Scholarship at St. Francis College, and Welcome Back Veterans. Mr. Wilpon received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan.
