In the Business of Science: Dr. Arthur Ashman

 

Dr. Arthur Ashman is a former clinical professor and founder of Ashman Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at New York University, College of Dentistry. He is a renowned oral and maxillo-facial surgeon and has held a private practice for more than 35 years. A former associate clinical professor at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and former head of dental research at Mt. Sinai Hospital Center, he is the co-inventor of Bioplant® HTR® Synthetic Bone™ Material. Dr. Ashman has also founded, developed and sold three Biotech companies. As an international lecturer, teacher and researcher, he has won multiple awards for his work.

Dr. Ashman also spent a season pitching for the Brooklyn Dodgers before enrolling in Yale University's undergraduate program. He was the team doctor for the New York Knicks from 1970 to 1980. Dr. Ashman completed his science pre-requisites for dental school at Queens College. Please join us as we welcome him back to campus!
