QC Career Mentoring

The Queens College Career Mentoring Community introduces students to a wide variety of career-related experiences by matching students with a mentor who is a Queens College alumnus or alumna or affiliate.  This short-term commitment (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter) mentorship community connects QC undergraduate and graduate students with experienced alumni mentors who can guide, help, and support students as they solve their current career challenges (i.e., resume reviews, networking tips, interview guidance, and other professional etiquette skills).  

Mentors provide learning experiences for students, including networking, interviewing, and business etiquette. They are not expected to obtain internships or jobs for their students, but they motivate and inspire them by providing opportunities to expand their skills and perspective. Becoming a mentor is an opportunity to learn and serve as an advocate and role model for students entering the workforce.

Regional Alumni Events
Volunteers are always needed to help with events in their area. If you’re interested in hosting an event near you, let us know!  Kimberly P. ’18 from Cleveland,Ohio has generously volunteered her time to help us in our engagement efforts. She manages a Facebook page for our Ohio alumni:@neoqccunyalumni  and is interested in hearing from you.

Reunion Class Chairs and Committee members
Class chairs and committee members are always needed in order to put together the best Reunion events! Email alumni@qc.cuny.edu or call 718-570-0436 and indicate that you are interested in helping out with Reunion!

Affinity Group Reunions
Were you a member of a student group that meant a lot to you when you were a student?  We can help you organize an event to get your friends together or rekindle lost friendships!  

Host students at your office
Each semester students travel to NYC to visit alumni at their places of business. We are always looking to expand programming like this to include other areas of study and are always looking for alumni who are interested in participating in a similar event.

Become a Social Media Ambassador
Do you like using social media? Do you miss Queens College? Now we have a way to keep you connected without leaving your computer! Become an Out of State Alumni Liaison

Want to stay connected to Queens College even if you live far away from campus? We are looking for alumni in geographic locations outside of Queens to strengthen their connection to other alums in their area and to the College. Groups organize activities that allow them to socialize, network, participate in fun activities and share great memories. You are a QC alum for a lifetime, so why not show your pride and get involved?
