Queens Rising

Queens Rising is a multi-disciplinary arts celebration, slated for June 2022, designed to highlight our borough’s cultural and creative diversity by amplifying and promoting Queens arts and culture. As a community that suffered disproportionally in the midst of a global health crisis, we will come together to celebrate our resilience and future, and what our borough can offer to NYC and beyond. An initiative that emanated from the Arts Advisory Board of Kupferberg Center at Queens College, Queens Rising is being produced in collaboration with other major institutions, such as the Queens Library, Queens College, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, and Flushing Town Hall, and also smaller organizations including Queensborough Dance Festival and A Better Jamaica. This event will serve as a platform to amplify Queens as a rich arts and culture hub and destination, touching every corner of our borough with a feast of cultural activities and a major effort to invite residents of Queens and NYC at large to our many neighborhoods to come see a show, an exhibit, a concert in a park or library, and to stop at a restaurant nearby and visit local shops. Your support will help assist the Queens Rising Planning Committee’s efforts in the marketing, promotion, production, and fundraising of this historical event. Join the Queens Rising community and help arts organizations, independent artists, and small businesses in Queens to make a full comeback after the COVID-19 pandemic!
